Bio: A performance and visual artist, turned sociocultural anthropologist, corporate media professional and philanthropic leader, Ruth Zuchter is described by her best friends as ‘multifaceted,’ and lesser friends as ‘complicated.’ Along the way, Ruth has nurtured a deep-seated love for the (mis)uses of language and lyricism. She has been writing poetry casually for decades, and decided to step up her writing practice by seeking out inspiration in workshops and classes with Ken Babstock, Jenny Sampirisi, and several sessions of Influency Salon with Margaret Christakos and a wonderful and insightful writing collective, who also participated in the Influency Summer Retreat on Wasan Island, July 2011. Presently, Ruth is completing her first novel, and is in the midst of re-shaping a collection of contemporary poetry.
